22 Hacks in the News in 2021 Already. But How Many More Stay Unreported?

Our Canadian Companies Hacked in 2020 was one of our most popular blog posts of the year - listing 39 hacks who made the headlines. We thought we’d give you mid-year (ok 5 month) recap of hacks that have made the news in 2021.

At the beginning of June we’ve already found 22 high-visibility hacks so it looks like we are set to beat last year’s totals. And keep in mind that this figure does not include the companies that prefer to remain silent despite legal requirements to report breaches - and that is a very significant percentage of overall incidents.

If you’re curious to know who hit the headlines, we've compiled a list of companies right here. Do you have other names of hacked companies in mind to share?
